The majority of people surveyed in early 2019 indicated that they lit fireworks on New Year's Eve because they considered it to be a nice tradition: close to 29 percent of survey respondents considered lighting fireworks to be a nice tradition, while around 13 percent considered it to be an important ritual to mark the beginning of a new year.
