The majority of people surveyed in the Netherlands as part in a survey on global attitudes indicated that they considered the freedom of the press to report without state or government censorship to be of importance. Approximately 65 percent of respondent considered press freedom to be very important, while a further 24 percent of respondents thought freedom of the press was somewhat important.
