In 2022, the French state spent on average a total of 17,260 euros per school year per student in Higher School Preparatory Classes. Higher School Preparatory Classes (Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Ecoles) are post-baccalaureate and pre-studies that prepare students for the entrance exams to French Grandes Ecoles such as Sciences Po, les Mines, or Polytechnique. For two years, students will take intensive courses in either literature, science, or economics.
