The majority of surveyed Russian businessmen in 2019 believed that weakening regulation by the government was necessary for a successful development of business in the country. Furthermore, one fifth of respondents suggested that lower taxes were needed for it.

* The original survey question was worded as follows: "Some economists find that business in Russia is overregulated by the state and that it is necessary to give it more freedom. Do you agree with such an opinion?"

Survey participants were born in the years 1957-1963 and 1980-1991 and are engaged in entrepreneurship, representing large, middle-sized, and small businesses across the whole country. The interviews included all production areas. The survey was conducted on an anonymous basis.
