Among Russian businessmen who worked in the beginning of the 1990s, more than a half of respondents did not agree with the statement that the Russian state overregulated business and that it should give more freedom to entrepreneurs. The younger generation of modern businessmen were of the opposite opinion, as nearly three quarters of respondents from this age group supported more freedom from the state.

* The original survey question was worded as follows: "Some economists find that business in Russia is overregulated by the state and that it is necessary to give it more freedom. Do you agree with such an opinion?"
Survey participants were born in the years 1957-1963 and 1980-1991 and are engaged in entrepreneurship, representing large, middle-sized, and small businesses across the whole country. The interviews included all production areas. The survey was conducted on an anonymous basis.
