As of 2019, the majority of consumers surveyed in the Netherlands indicated that they took brands into consideration when making purchase decisions. Over 40 percent of consumers included in this survey primarily purchased premium brand items. The share of consumers who tended to stick to private label brands was significantly lower, at roughly 20 percent.
