Climate sensitivity of U.S. animals under the ESA 2019
Nearly the all of the animals listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) in the United States were found to be sensitive to climate change threats as of 2019. However, the agencies that are responsible for protecting these species are not adequately addressing climate change threats. The planned management actions against climate change would only work against threats involving 18 percent of those endangered species.
