The consumption of cocaine, ecstasy, amphetamines, heroin, and new psychoactive substances was rather uneven in the country. Although figures indicate a fall in consumption from 2008 to 2013, a clear rise in consumption took place between 2013 to 2018. In 2018, over one percent of Belgians had used either cocaine or ecstasy. Out of the five listed drugs, cocaine was the most consumed drug in Belgium from 2008 to 2018. On the other hand, heroin was the least consumed drug in 2018 in Belgium.
