Share of cyberattacks in worldwide regions 2023, by category
As of 2023, multipurpose malware, which includes banking Trojans and botnets, was the most frequently reported category of cyberattack across all global regions. This type of malware accounted for 31 percent of globally reported attacks and 35 percent of attacks in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Infostealers ranked second, recording the highest percentage in the APAC region at 15 percent. Among the reported categories, mobile attacks had the lowest share across all regions worldwide, ranging from five to eight percent.
