In 2024, Poland had the most significant number of military personnel out of all Central and Eastern European countries. The NATO ally with the second-largest number of military personnel was Romania, with over 66 thousand staff. Poland also incurred the highest defense spending from NATO member states in the region of Central and Eastern Europe in 2024.
