New offshore wind installations worldwide amounted to around 10.85 gigawatts in 2023, mainly due to expanding capacities in China and Europe. In 2033, it is estimated that there will be roughly 66 gigawatts of new global offshore wind energy capacity installed that year. The European offshore wind market is expected to account for a significant share of these capacity additions over the next decade.
