Scores of the French far right in the first round of the main elections 2007-2024

While the score of French far-right parties in the first round of the 2019 European elections had reached a historic level (29.75 percent), with Marine Le Pen's party narrowly overtaking the presidential majority, the results obtained in the first round of the 2021 regional elections seemed to counter the progression of the far right, dropping to 19.61 percent. But in the European elections of June 2024, the National Rally alone could concede more than 31 percent of the votes, when the presidential majority only did around 14 percent. After the results were published, France’s President, aware of his party's defeat announced he had decided to dissolve the National Assembly. Legislative elections were organized and the National Rally confirmed his rise and arrived first with around 30 percent of the votes.
