This statistic shows the result of a survey conducted to assess the state of indoor climbing within the United Kingdom (UK) in 2019, presenting the share of additional services, beyond the mere presence of a climbing wall, that exist within climbing facilities in the UK.
Of the climbing walls included within this survey, the vast majority, over 90 percent, offered services for youth groups, schools, and parties. Emphising the importance of the youth demographic on the indpoor climbing industry. A significant proportion of the facilities surveyed also offered non-climbing services which include cafés; social events, which often coincide with climbing competitions; gym facilities; and yoga lessons.
The range of services available within these facilities reflects the broad range of participants within the climbing community, and the correspondingly broad requirements and interests of these participants

Stratified random sampling method:
List of 249 walls ordered according within size by region, and within region listed alphabetically.
Every 7th wall on the list selected for interview.
If selected wall unable or unwilling to take part, next wall on list
approached.
Representative sample in terms of size, type and geography.
Sample of 36 walls = 15% of list.
Percentage points exceeding 100 percent are due to multiple services offered within a single climbing facility.
