Trappist beer is beer produced by Trappist monks in their monasteries. In Belgium, there are currently six Trappist beers, Chimay, Westmalle, Orval, Rochefort, Achel and Westvleteren. In 2018, a total of 32 monks were responsible for the Westmalle Trappist production at the monastery, whereas 18 monks produced Westvlesteren Trappist.
