Moong, a variety of pulses, accounted for about 90 billion Indian rupees to the Indian economy in fiscal year 2020. This value was significantly higher compared to fiscal year 2012. Pulses contributed over five percent to the GVA of crops that same year. Moong lentils made up to over 12 percent within pulses.
