Gram, a variety of pulses, accounted for about 318 billion Indian rupees to the Indian economy in fiscal year 2020. This value was significantly higher compared to the previous fiscal year. Pulses contributed over five percent to the GVA of crops that same year. Gram lentils made up 45 percent within pulses.
