A large share of U.S. citizens acknowledged that climate change was affecting their local areas. However, concerns varied from region to region, with concerns focusing on various extreme events. In the West Mountain region, around 85 percent of the respondents stated that unusually long periods of hot weather as well as droughts and water shortages were the main consequence of climate change in their local areas.
