In 2022, the number of on-the-spot prosecutions for not using head/tail lights and indicators made by the Delhi traffic police in India was over nine thousand. That year, two-wheelers had the highest number of traffic violations across the capital city. In 2022, over 44 percent of the victims killed in road accidents in Delhi, were pedestrians. Lack of foot-over bridges, pedestrian crossings and lax road safety rules could be the reasons for such accidents.
