Between 2007 and 2018, the average income of Russian residents increased by six percent. The incomes of the bottom 40 percent of the population increased at a significantly higher rate of 35 percent, while the rate for the top one percent was at negative 20 percent. Looking at year-over-year growth, in the first half of 2019, paid employee's renumeration increased by 2.1 percent on average.
