Cuba: teaching staff 2014-2021
In the academic year 2020/2021, the number of teachers in Cuba amounted to nearly 249,000, down from over 295,06 recorded a year earlier. This represents a decrease of nearly 16 percent and it is the lowest amount of teaching staff reported since the beginning of the indicated period. Furthermore, the number of schools in the Caribbean country has also decreased for the first time since 2014/2015. Education in the country is mandatory for children between the age of six and 15 years.
