In 2018, 75 newly diagnosed cases of the acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) were reported in the Kanto or Koshinetsu area in Japan. That year, the total number of newly diagnosed patients with AIDS amounted to 337 people in Japan, excluding HIV patients without AIDS.
