Ransomware attacks on French companies are a widespread phenomenon. According to this survey, 58 percent of the companies reported phishing scams via email or social media platforms. Drive-by-downloads caused by clicking on a compromised website were the second main way ransomware attackers gained access to a company's network, reported by 42 percent of surveyed companies in 2018.
