In 2023, August was the most popular month for mountaineers to attempt ascending Mt. Fuji in Japan, with approximately 100.7 thousand climbers. Apart from the climbing season in summer, trails and huts are closed and climbing Mount Fuji is prohibited for people who are not exceptionally experienced mountaineers.
