Pulses accounted for nearly 782 billion Indian rupees to the Indian economy in fiscal year 2021. This value was significantly higher compared to the previous fiscal year. This sector contributed over five percent to the GVA of crops that same year, an increase from a little over four percent in fiscal year 2012.
