CoMensha (the National Coordination Centre against Human Trafficking) provides information about the extent and nature of human trafficking in the Netherlands through registration of (potential) victims of trafficking. In addition, CoMensha provides policy advice and training and runs a national helpdesk.
The source adds the following notes:
A victim can be exploited in multiple sectors. In that case all the relevant sectors are counted. Hence the number of sectors is higher than the number of victims.
CoMensha provides an insight into the nature and extent of human trafficking and registers possible victims of human trafficking. The reason the term 'possible' victims is used is that in a chain approach there is no definitive set of criteria that a person must fulfill in order to be a 'real' victim of trafficking.
The figures concern the newly registered possible victims of human trafficking.
