According to an analysis of remittances in South Korea in 2018, KEB Hana Bank VIP customers with children studying overseas most often sent remittances to the U.S., making up around 65 percent of the total number of VIP remittances to students. The U.S. was also the destination of the largest average value of remittances to students. Canada was in second place in terms of share and average value of VIP remittances.
