In 2021, the number of automated teller machines (ATMs) in Colombia decreased by 1.1 machines per 100,000 adults (-2.67 percent) compared to 2020. Nevertheless, the last two years recorded a significantly higher number of automated teller machines than the preceding years. An ATM is a specialized data terminal that allows customers to complete basic transactions. It allows a person to check account balances, withdraw or deposit money, and print a statement of account activities or transactions.
