The majority of respondents to a 2022 survey across the 27 European Union member states said they thought false news was a problem for their country (78 percent). However, the figures differ considerably from country to country. Whereas 91 percent of respondents in Greece and 90 percent in Malta believe false news is a problem in their country, only about half of Finnish respondents felt the same.
