In a survey conducted among married women in Japan in July 2022, around 39 percent of respondents claimed to often talk with their spouses about how they should spend their days off. The survey revealed that 12.4 percent of married couples never discussed their free day plans.

Original question: "We would like to ask about your communication as a couple. Please answer A to K regarding your situation in the past year."
Questionnaires were distributed to respondents during individual visits and, in exceptional cases, mailed to absent households. Completed questionnaires were collected in person or submitted by mail or via the online survey system of the government.
