In 2017, over 54 percent of employers used the vocational education and training (VET) system in Australia. Although this was an increase from 2015, the average share of employers using the VET system in Australia has decreased since 2009, in which 58 percent of employers used the VET system. Vocational education and training in Australia is a form of education and training, which strives to enable people to adopt the necessary skills needed to join the workforce; to enhance existing skills or to change career paths.
