In 2019, supermarkets in the Netherlands had an average gross profit margin of around 23.5 percent. Supermarkets in the eastern provinces of the country had the highest average gross profit margin, at 24 percent. In this period, supermarkets in the north and west of the Netherlands had the lowest gross profit margin, at just over 23.4 percent.
