In 2023, the value of personal remittances paid in Indonesia increased by 1.8 billion U.S. dollars (+23.1 percent) since the previous year. With 9.8 billion U.S. dollars, the value thereby reached its highest value in the observed period.
A remittance is a non-commercial transfer of money by a nonresident worker, a member of a diaspora community, or a citizen with familial ties abroad, for household income in their home country.
