According to a survey conducted in South Korea in 2023, around 12 percent of male respondents stated that they visited a PC bang at least once a week within the last year. Only 4.5 percent of female respondents had done so. PC bang, literally translated “computer room”, may seem like internet cafes, but are mostly used for gaming. Since the hourly fares are relatively low, they established as a popular social meeting place, especially among young gamers.
