According to a survey conducted in Japan from January to March 2019, more than 23 percent of respondents who regularly played video games for more than six hours on weekdays wanted to reduce the time they spend on video games.
The survey was conducted with a focus on gaming disorders. Gaming disorders were recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a medical condition in May 2019.
