Male vs. female/neutral beauty brands sales growth on Tmall 2018, by product type
In 2018, the sales of eyebrow pencils of male beauty brands on Chinese online shopping website Tmall increased by 214 percent compared to the previous year, whereas the sales of female or gender neutral brands' eyebrow pencils grew by 46 percent. The soaring growth of male-specific brands and beauty products indicated that male cosmetics were becoming a new consumption trend in China.
