In a survey conducted in New Zealand in 2018, regarding support for Asian tourism in New Zealand, 82 percent of respondents aged 50 years and older stated that Asian tourism in New Zealand was positive. In comparison, 58 percent of respondents aged between 15 and 19 years old believed Asian tourism in New Zealand was positive. In 2018, international tourism visitation and expenditure increased in New Zealand, with this came an increase in those who were employed directly in tourism.
