Overall, Italians do not perceive a great difference between traditional and heat-not-burn cigarettes in terms of impact on health status. The results of a study conducted in 2019 show that almost 55 percent of respondents believed that heat-not-burn tobacco products were as harmful as traditional cigarettes. In addition, more than six percent of the people interviewed thought that these products were even more harmful than traditional cigarettes.
