Among the leading banks in Italy, Banco BPM is the one with the highest average balance of current accounts. In fact, the Milanese bank's average balance of current accounts amounted to almost 26 thousand euros in June 2018. BNL-BNP Paribas registered the second highest average balance (24.9 thousand euros).
However, due to their larger customer base, Intesa Sanpaolo and UniCredit lead the ranking of the leading banks in terms of current accounts' value in Italy.
