Around 50 thousand women in Japan underwent free osteoporosis examinations at municipalities and were advised to undergo detailed reexaminations in the fiscal year 2022. This number accounted for about 16 percent of the total free osteoporosis examinations conducted at Japanese municipalities that year. Municipalities in Japan provide annual osteoporosis examinations for free for female patients aged 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, and 70 years old.
