In October 2019, UK residents were asked which measures they were willing to take to decrease the impact of their flying habits on the environment. Of respondents who use planes, 18 to 24 year olds showed the highest willingness to consider the environment when making travel plans: 35 percent from this group said they intend to avoid flying where possible and another 30 percent were willing to travel abroad less frequently. On the other end of the scale, older generations seemed more willing to give up flying completely, with 10 percent of 55 to 64 year olds saying they would be willing compared to just five percent of 18 to 24 year olds.
