Nearly 10 percent of the total consumer expenditure in Russia was dedicated to meat product purchases over the last years. The food product that Russians spend the second largest amount of money on was alcohol, which amounted to a roughly 4.5 percent share in 2019. Over one third of the aggregate household spending in Russia went to food product expenses in second quarter of 2019.
