In 2022, there were a total of 2,725 public hospitals operating in Brazil, up from the 2,702 hospitals recorded the previous year. The number of public hospitals in the South American country has been continuously increasing since 2010, when public hospitals amounted to around two thousand facilities. In contrast, the number of private hospitals in Brazil showed a decreasing trend in recent years.
