According to Rakuten Insight about a survey on non-alcoholic beer consumption, a majority of respondents drank non-alcoholic beer to try it, making up an average of 29 percent, leaning on the higher balance towards women respondents. About 16 percent of men consumed this variety of beer because they had to drive, compared to nearly ten percent among women for the same reason.
New flagship brands from beverage giants Coca-Cola and PepsiCo were set to compete with non-alcoholic beers in the Indian urban markets in 2019. Among many reasons, this was a result of a recent decrease in the consumption of carbonated beverages as well as in alcoholic beverages.
