Ranking of food companies in Denmark 2018, by revenue

In 2018, Arla Foods was the leading food company in Denmark, measured by its revenue of approximately 78 million Danish kroner. Split by countries, the highest revenue was generated in the United Kingdom, ahead of Sweden, Germany, and Denmark. The company is the largest producer of dairy products in the Nordic countries.

Danish Crown's revenue increased constantly from the financial year 2011/12 to the financial year 2016/17, when it reached around 62 billion Danish kroner. However, the company's revenue decreased in the following years and amounted to 57 billion Danish kroner as of 2018/19, 13 billion of which originated in the Danish market.

Leading food companies in Sweden

As of March 2020, Arla Foods ranked second among the companies in the manufacture of food products industry in the neighboring country Sweden. At that time, it recorded a revenue of roughly 16 billion Swedish kronor. AAK came first in the ranking. The Danish-Swedish producer of vegetable oils and fats, formerly known as AarhusKarlshamn, reached a revenue of almost 28 billion Swedish kronor.
