According to the results of a survey conducted in 2019, 14 percent of Italian respondents believed that no effort was made in Italy to integrate Roma people in the fields of education, health, housing, and employment. On the contrary, 20 percent of interviewees stated that the measure adopted were effective.
In Italy, Roma and Sinti are often victims of hate speech such as stereotyped speeches and incitement to hatred and discrimination. For instance, in 2018, 125 cases of hate speech against Roma and Sinti were recorded nationwide.
