In 2022, Brazil produced 1.7 million metric tons of açaí berry, up from 1.49 million tons a year earlier. This represents an increase of just over 14 percent in comparison to the previous year. The fruit, native of South American rainforests, is considered a superfood, and is popularly used for smoothie bowls.
