Online outbound tourism GMV in China 2012-2020

China has become one of the driving forces in the global outbound tourism industry. In 2018, the gross merchandise volume of the online outbound travel market in China amounted to around 75.6 billion yuan, indicating an annual growth rate of 21.7 percent. Chinese tourists had the highest consumption on outbound trips in the world, contributing a total of 250 billion U.S. dollars in 2017.
