Containment: budget for Christmas gifts sold in stores in France 2020

The current health crisis is likely to have had various consequences on the purchasing behaviors and habits of people in France. The purchase of Christmas gifts in stores is no exception, and it seems that this year, Christmas shopping is taking a different turn than in previous years. At the beginning of November 2020, the source had therefore asked French people how much they thought they would end up spending on Christmas gifts sold in stores, before and since the announcement of the containment and closure of some stores. Yet, it appeared that the proportion of people who thought they would spend nothing in stores rose from 23 to 38 percent.
