Coal reserves share in Russia 2020, by basin
The Kansk-Achinsk coal basin, located in Central Siberia, had the largest share of coal reserves in Russia, measuring at over 40 percent as of 2020. The Kuznetsk Basin, or Kuzbass, in Western Siberia was the second major coal basin, accounting for one quarter percent of the total. Russia's proved coal reserves amounted to more than 162 billion metric tons in 2020.
