CNG consumption by vehicles in Russia 2011-2021
In 2021, 1.3 billion cubic meters of compressed natural gas (CNG) were used by vehicles in Russia. The volume has steadily increased since 2011, when it was measured at 360 million cubic meters. In the country's second largest city Saint Petersburg, approximately 2.5 thousand buses, trucks, and special vehicles were planned to operate on natural gas fuel by the year 2023.
